Proposed legislation would dramatically limit access to homecare
California is facing two legislative issues that, if passed, stand to force dramatic changes to the way private-pay homecare services are delivered to the elderly and disabled. Under the guise of “consumer safety” and “employee protection,” special interests have put forth proposals that will create new expensive government bureaucracies and impose exorbitant fees on providers and homecare clients—including some of our society’s most vulnerable citizens.

PROTECT ACCESS TO HOMECARE (P.A.T.H.) is a coalition of private providers, employees, clients, and advocates united in a fight against special interests who have introduced legislation to alter the care options available to California’s most vulnerable citizens. Specifically, we have come together to fight AB 241 and AB 1217 – both of which are currently making their way through the California State Legislature.
